But a huge share of us rent — we can't make holes, we can't renovate, and we move every couple of years. We needed ideas that work within those limits, not around them.

So that's what we cover. Every idea and product we feature has to pass three tests:

• Genuinely affordable — most picks land under $30, because a tidy home shouldn't require a renovation budget.
• Actually solves something — we don't feature clutter that organizes your clutter. Each product earns its place by fixing one real small-space headache.
